Place of Hope Renovations

An "extreme makeover" at our new Bay-Goodman Center

This place was a mess that needed an extreme makeover!

We needed labors skilled in plumbing, electrical, heating and ductwork, carpentry framing, drywall, suspended ceilings, trim work, window and door installation, hardwood floor refinishing, cabinet hanging, painting and decorating, intercom system installation, etc., etc.

Our prayer

  • We would be walking in unity with the Lord Jesus every step of this project
  • A blessing for the work to be enabled with the skills required
  • Safety for the workers and blessings for their families
  • Financial support – we estimated this to be about a $10,000 project
  • We requested Grants from Xerox and Browncroft Community.
  • A plumber to lead that portion of the reconstruction
  • A electrician to lead the electrical work
  • Discounts from Lowe’s or Home depot
  • Possible donation of a furnace and installation of new duct work
  • Donation of good quality furniture

Nehemiah 4:14-18

“Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to his own work. From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked.
